How is the drive from Mount Rushmore to Mall of America?

How is the drive from Mount Rushmore to Mall of America? According to Google, it’s about 10 drive.. Would it be cheaper to just fly there instead? If so, where airlines would be affordable and which airport would I be flying from and to?

We are planning to go during the Spring Season.

Generally, driving is going to be cheaper. Especially if you are not going alone. It would probably cost $150, or so, in gas. An airline ticket would cost about $300 per person (of course, flight deals come and go). You also have to consider your time and comfort. If flying, your would take off from Rapid City airport which is just over 30 miles from Mount Rushmore. You would arrive at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport. The Mall of America is really close to the airport (about 2 miles). There are a large number of hotels in the area including several directly across the street from the mall. One of them has “Water Park of America” inside it (America’s biggest indoor water park hotel). Also, make sure you check out the huge Ikea located across the street from the mall.
