How do I calibrate my Canon Xsi camera lens?
I have a Canon XSI with the 18-55mm lens kit. Everytime I take a photo, it’s slightly blurry. I’ve tried using it in different lighting, using different settings etc, nothing works. I think maybe the lens need to be calibrated. How do I do this?
Yes IS is turned on, and the only mode I ever shoot in is fully manual. I will try changing the focus metering and see what happens.
Have you tried using the centre AF point only? This is often more accurate than multi point AF, because you know exactly where your focal point is…and with multi AF, the camera doesn’t always focus on the subject you want.
You can’t use it in Basic mode, though…so, try using P (Program AE) or Av (Aperture Priority) or Tv (Shutter Priority).
Also, if you’re shooting moving objects, it’s best to change your AF mode to AI Servo AF or AI Focus AF…rather than One-Shot AF.
