Manual Focus?
As a newcomer to photography………..If im using the manual focus (on a fujifilm s8000) when takin a portrait and i zoom in to my subject and focus on the eyes then zoom back out to compose and take the shot. Will the eyes remain in focus? Cant get my hea around it. Any other tips would be great too….Thanks very much.
The answer to this question would depend on the specific nature of the lens.
Technically, to be called a zoom lens, the lens should be completely parfocal. This means that the focus point should not change as the focal length of the lens is changed.
Most “zoom” lenses, though, are not exactly parfocal, so there’s a very realy possibility that you’ll change the point of focus by zooming in or out.
Thus, I’d suggest, unless you know for sure that your cameras lens is completely parfocal, you zoom before focusing.
